POSITION SUMMARY:

The College of Western Idaho is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to develop and execute effective recruitment strategies addressing current and future hiring needs for the College. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a great experience for candidates, hiring teams, and managers by executing a clear and consistent process for all participants.

This position will handle multiple requisitions at a time and demonstrates multitasking skills, comfort working off of multiple systems or programs, and expertise in recruiting and HR best practices.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Human Resources, the Talent Acquisition Specialist executes the college-wide recruitment process and will play a critical role in ensuring success in the attraction and employment of top talent. The role consults with hiring managers on all aspects of talent acquisition from job postings and recruitment strategies to presenting/negotiating job offers. May also assist hiring managers with sourcing and screening candidates. This position utilizes strategies to execute consistent and effective recruitment processes in compliance with applicable policies, rules, regulations, and labor laws.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Is a trusted talent partner and develops an understanding of the College's talent needs.

o Consult with hiring managers on recruitment procedures and processes, and the development of recruitment strategies to decrease the time to fill and hire.
o Establishes and grows CWI's online recruiting presence.
o Identifies recruiting opportunities by researching new sources for talent, cultivating relationships with industry professionals, and networking with college placement officers and staffing company personnel.
o Trains hiring managers and assistants on the ATS system, hiring process, applicable forms, and employment laws.

• Delivers an exceptional candidate experience from the first outreach. Evaluates the current processes, tools, and resources to make recommendations on increasing effectiveness and improving the candidate experience.
• Posts requisitions, including but not limited to proofreading, cross-checking information, and creating prescreening questions.
• Manages job listings and candidate referrals for faculty and staff positions.
• Partners with the Compensation Program Manager on recommendations for starting salaries.
• Coordinates timely onboarding processing in partnership with the HR Coordinator.
• Provides ATS support, assisting applicants with questions around document issues, hiring process, resume, and cover letter guidance.
• Reviews background checks on potential employees; manages adverse action process.
• Maintains an accurate and functional ATS by working with the vendor on issues and upgrades and auditing the system to ensure accurate information is continually updated.
• Provides CWI leadership and Human Resources with accurate and timely reports and hiring-related key metrics.
• Performs work in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to equal employment opportunity, immigration, and company policy.
• Performs various duties as needed to fulfill the function of the position successfully.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of two years experience in Human Resources.
• Two years of experience in recruiting is required.
• Experience using MS Office products.
• Bachelor’s Degree in human resource management or similar field preferred.
• Knowledge of EEO and employment laws and HR practices required.
• Prior work experience in a college environment preferred.
