The proposed Powers Butte Energy Center is a solar generation facility with a capacity of up to 250 MW and up to 200 MW battery energy storage facility. It is located in the Treasure Valley, spanning parts of both Canyon and Ada counties. The Project presents an economic development opportunity for private property owners and offers a new revenue opportunity for the local tax jurisdictions in both counties. It is expected to power more than 45,000 homes without burdening public services. The community appreciates their support and commitment to preserving our rural identity by implementing dual-use strategies for vegetation selection, incorporating solar grazing, and possibly including other innovative agricultural practices on-site with the solar facility.
