Thank you to the Boise Philharmonic for providing this special offer for Nampa Chambers to attend the Phil in Nampa at the NNU Brandt Center.
Join us on a journey to explore a diverse range of Romantic works. Strauss’s Don Juan, full of youthful energy, takes the audience on a hero’s journey told by vivid themes and virtuosic solos. Venezuelan pianist Gabriela Martinez performs Clara Schumann’s daring Piano Concerto in A Minor, a piece that radiates the optimism of youth. Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde, oft considered the beginning of modern music, showcases the orchestra’s technical and expressive abilities as the composer shows off his unique capacity for creating musical tension and relief. The evening closes with the most popular of Liszt’s thirteen symphonic poems, a bold, vigorous heroic transformation led by the brass section to a stirring close.
