Travis Leach Takes the Helm as Chairman of the Board

July 31, 2020 — As the Nampa Chamber of Commerce enters a new fiscal year, the Board of Directors changes occur on August 1, 2020. Often putting service above self, the Board of Directors provides guidance and counsel toward the Chamber's mission and goals.

Two Board members will finish their terms on July 31, 2020: Bryon Knight (Northwest Nazarene University) and Will Fowler (Idaho Small Business Development Center). Thank you to Bryon and Will for your service to the Nampa Chamber.

Mike Peña (Colliers International) will move from Chairman of the Board to Past Chair. Mike has been a member of the Chamber Board of Directors since 2014. CEO Mitch Minnette says, "I would like to express my sincere gratitude for Mike and his dedicated service as the Board Chair for the past two years. The Nampa Chamber has been extremely fortunate to be under the strong leadership of Mike during what is considered to be a bustling and thriving economy the past couple years, as well as most recently and our current unique and unprecedented times like we have never seen before. Mike always led by example and with confidence to make sure we made the best decisions possible in the best interest of our members. Mike cares deeply about the Nampa community and works tirelessly to make sure it is a quality place to live and work. Thank you to Mike for who you are, and ALL that you have done for the Nampa Chamber."

The incoming Chairman of the Board is Travis Leach, President of Saint Alphonsus Medical Center-Nampa. A leader in healthcare for over 23 years, Travis is an active civic and community leader, serving on several boards. In his own words, "I'm excited and humbled to take on this leadership role as part of the Nampa Chamber of Commerce. I've appreciated our partnership with the Chamber and look forward to serving local businesses in our community and supporting them as they grow and thrive. We have our hands full in the times of the pandemic, but I am confident we will come out on top as a community, stronger than ever. I am looking forward to being a part of something so important to the future of Nampa."

In addition, the Nampa Chamber welcomes its two newest board members, Rick Murdock, CEO and Co-Founder of Autovol, and Candi Puga with the Vallivue School District.
