United Way of Treasure Valley Begins Covid Relief Plan With Robust Literacy Project Called United We Read

United We Read is aimed at reducing pandemic-related learning loss for our community’s youngest learners.

United Way of Treasure Valley, Idaho Public Television, Book it Forward Idaho, Rediscovered Bookshop, CBS 2 Boise, Lotus Media radio stations, CapEd Credit Union, and our local library partners are working together to rebuild literacy-related learning loss for our community's littlest learners. The United We Read project will provide local, low-income children, parents, and caregivers with free early learning literacy building tools, tips, and opportunities.

Children will receive age-appropriate books they can call their own, opportunities for weekly 1:1 online reading tutoring, get-ready-for-Kindergarten literacy kits in English and Spanish, and parents can receive weekly text messages with helpful tips and fun ideas for engaging their little learner at home and on the go.

United We Read has something for everyone in our 11 county footprint. From volunteer and engagement opportunities to resources for parents, children, caregivers, and more. Visit www.unitedwaytv.org to learn how you can be involved.
